  8.        2.  _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__I_n_f_o_r_m_a_t_i_o_n

  10.        This chapter lists supplemental information to  the _I_R_I_S
  11.        _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e.  The information listed here is
  12.        product-specific; use it with the Installation Guide to
  13.        install  this product.

  16.        2.1  _I_m_a_g_e_V_i_s_i_o_n__L_i_b_r_a_r_y__S_u_b_s_y_s_t_e_m_s

  18.        The IL includes these subsystems:

  20.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._c++     This is the C++ version of the IL header
  21.                          files.
  22.  
  23.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._v_k      This subsystem provides the header files
  24.                          for IL/ViewKit integration.  It also
  25.                          includes files to integrate IL and
  26.                          RapidApp.
  27.  
  28.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._c       This is the C version of the IL archive
  29.                          and header files. It depends on the C++
  30.                          version: _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._c++.

  32.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._g_i_f_t_s   This subsystem consists of some example
  33.                          programs and some tutorial code, including
  34.                          the source of the code examples in the
  35.                          programming guide.

  37.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._m_o_n_i_t_o_r This DSO library provides support for the
  38.                          graphical tool that monitors image objects
  39.                          and their data caches.

  41.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._d_e_b_u_g   This subsystem consists of debug versions
  42.                          of the shared objects in the il_eoe
  43.                          product.  These can be helpful during
  44.                          development.

  46.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w_6_4._m_o_n_i_t_o_r This '-64' DSO library provides support
  47.                          for the graphical tool that monitors image
  48.                          objects and their data caches.

  50.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w_6_4._d_e_b_u_g This subsystem consists of '-64' debug
  51.                          versions of the shared objects in the
  52.                          il_eoe product.  These can be helpful
  53.                          during development.

  84.        2.2  _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n__M_e_t_h_o_d

  86.        All of the subsystems for ImageVision Library can be
  87.        installed using IRIX.  You do not need to use the miniroot.
  88.        Refer to the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete
  89.        installation instructions.

  92.        2.3  _P_r_e_r_e_q_u_i_s_i_t_e_s

  94.        If you want to install _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._c, you must also install
  95.        _i_l__d_e_v._s_w._c++.  Your workstation must be running at least
  96.        release IRIX 6.2 in order to use release  of this product.
  97.        Also, you should have the installed at least version 7.2 of
  98.        the MIPSPro compiler suite as well as patchSG0002483 (or its
  99.        successor).
